I believe this is a topic that never gets old. Money is said to be the root of all evil but appears to be the solution to all problems. Money brings about happiness, right? Of course we know that’s wrong, but having money can aid in that happiness. Wealth can get you in high places and even help you live more comfortably. What wealth are we speaking about and how do we attain it? I’m speaking on the wealth of knowledge. The more you know the more you make. I don’t just mean with a degree because it’s been proven that you don’t have to have a college education to make it in the world but you do need knowledge.
A good work ethic and experience can get you far but to a certain extent. This has been debated a lot so let me explain. With constant advancements and innovative techniques, it’s not enough to simply be skilled in one area. That area of expertise you have in years to come will soon be outdated and replaced with something new and lucrative. You want to know why? It brings in more money and it makes the job more functional. May it attracts more consumer interest. Whatever the case may be, it’s simply not enough to know the basics. Of course you’re experience will get you far but that additional knowledge, that constant drive for growth and development is what will take you to the next level. Most times this is scene in those with degrees, because they appear to be taking the initiative and eager to learn more.
I can attest that a lot of what I learned in school I did not retain. For that reason, I sought out to gain more knowledge and training. Even though I didn’t have years of experience, I showed a drive to learn more. I displayed the same innovation within Im myself, that people wanted to bring within the company. This goes for working for an employer or being self-employed. Acquiring wealth comes from acquiring knowledge. This can be through research, advice, training, furthering your education, life lessons. There are so many ways to learn. There is so much information out on the internet for free! A lot of entrepreneurs offer classes, sessions on how to build a business and gain wealth, but if you don’t have the funding do your research. There was a time you had to pay for this kind of knowledge, but it’s out there and available for you. There are ebooks, regular books in the library, you just have to have the drive.
Wealth always has and always will be attainable. If you never look you will never find it. Do your research and planning! If you’re unhappy because financially you aren’t where you want to be, take time to re-evaluate your life. What things can you change? What areas of your life can be improved? What will this wealth bring you? Take time to sit down and write out a plan. Think of other ways to bring in more income. Sometimes keeping ideas in your head get lost with the many other things on your mind. Free up some space and write it down. Find a mentor who has reached a level of wealth that you want to be and seek advice. Spend time researching online. Find happiness in yourself and in the process. Create steps to take and make a timeline for accomplishing each step. Set goals for your wealth and commend yourself for the effort and for the achievement.
You can never be the same as someone else so don’t wish for that. If you’re not willing to put in the work, don’t reach for that goal either. With more wealth comes more work and more challenges. Sometimes your lack of wealth comes from laziness. You can’t complain about something you’re not willing to change. You may think you don’t know what steps to take and you don’t know what to do next. Well no one knew how to do anything until they tried. Just think of how much easier you have it now. You can type in a search and get answers, solutions within seconds! Those before you spent years finding out and creating ways to get the knowledge you could have in seconds. Don’t make excuses, make changes. Apply the “little” that you know, to gain more. Take time each day to move a step further and reward yourself along the way.
